Let’s jump into the headlines:
news.
There was another attack at the Capitol today. After what happened on January 6th, I can tell you that the response was very different. The suspect rammed his car into a barricade on the Capitol complex and then hopped out with a knife. He was shot and killed, but not before hurting two officers, one of which had to be airlifted to the hospital.
COVID 19 numbers might be regressing, and the CDC Director is scared. If you’re like me, you’re all vaxxed up, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t stay safe. Especially since the CDC now says that travel is okay, with COVID precautions.
Derek Chauvin’s trial is underway. If you’re not sure who he is, he’s the officer accused of murdering George Floyd. No matter how easy it might be to call it the George Floyd trial, it’s important that you don’t. George Floyd isn’t on trial, Derek Chauvin is. Testimony in the case has been pretty emotional. You can watch the proceedings daily online, but I won’t be joining you - it’s still too much for me.
The ACLU is suing the state of Georgia after a slew of new bills restricting voting rights were signed into law. I expect the ACLU to be pretty busy, since several states, including Texas, have also introduced new legislation tightening restrictions on voting. I’ve said this before, I’ll say it again… shouldn’t we want more people to vote? Or is that too much like right? I’ll tell you what… the voting restrictions feel very Jim Crow-like.
The MLB has recently voted to move their All-Star Game out of Atlanta in response to the new voting restrictions.
you should know.
Sharon Osbourne has left the CBS show The Talk after her racism caught up with her. This move comes after the show went on hiatus after she insisted on defending her dear friend Piers Morgan to her co-hosts. She’s allegedly getting a $10 million buy-out - which means that being racist can be really lucrative!
Rapper Lil Nas X caused a wave of controversy this week with the release of the music video for his latest single “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” - the video and the rollout included a lot of Satanic imagery, including a pair of customized Nike Air Max 97's called “Satan Shoes” in collaboration with MSCHF. Since the release, Nike has filed suit against MSCHF and has been granted a temporary restraining order barring any further sale of the shoe. People were big mad and shocked by the video, but I wasn’t.

There it is. 🤷🏾♀️
