Was your week as long as mine? The good thing is we made it, friend! Let’s jump right in!
thoughts at large.
I think that social media and other societal pressures have had a negative impact on the way that we make decisions as individuals. Too often, I’ve seen people go against themselves, their truth, their gut, or The Holy Spirit to make palatable choices for their friends or social media followers.
In the end, it always winds up being a major failure. This is a cheeky example, but I watched the first set of episodes of Love is Blind, Season 3 and it’s already a mess. A couple of people in particular went against what they knew they would be compatible with and chose people they thought were the better or, more noble choice. Without giving any spoilers, let’s just say that the decisions have already backfired on them.
That’s what happens when you don’t trust yourself - or if you’re not honest with yourself. Just like you meet other people where they are - you have to be honest with yourself about where you are, what you like, and what you don’t like.
A question I’ve started to ask myself is: Is this what I want or is this what I feel like I’m supposed to want? It’s helped me really identify my voice. What’s helped you? Leave a comment and let me know.
