*Tap Tap* Is this thing on?
It’s a brand new year and I’m back (with a new look) - but with the same mission: keeping you updated on the things you need to know now, and what’s coming next.

headlines:
impeachment, the remix.
President Trump made history this week, becoming the first U.S. President to be impeached twice, in a bi-partisan decision in the House. Nancy Pelosi went in the back of her closet and pulled out that impeachment dress for the occasion:

Trump won’t face trial in the Senate until after Wednesday’s inauguration. If convicted, we won’t see him in public office ever again.
capitol fallout
There have been dozens of arrests in connection with the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6th. The FBI is still asking for citizens’ assistance in identifying people seen in photos and videos from the siege. Even this guy surrendered:
This is the first time… EVER… that the Confederate flag has flown in the Capitol. It didn’t even happen during the Civil War. (Click the photo for more details)
So far the FBI’s investigation has shown that several participants in the riots were on the terror watchlist before they came to D.C. last week.
DC’s mayor, Muriel Bowser, has asked for additional assistance from the National Guard ahead of next week’s events, and has urged everyone to refrain from visiting the District next week, due to increased threats of violence around the Inauguration.
AirBnB gave Mayor Bowser a helping hand by cancelling all reservations on their platform in the DC area for the upcoming week.
charges in flint water crisis
Former Michigan governor Rick Snyder, and 9 other former state officials have all been criminally charged for their roles in the water crisis that essentially destroyed the majority-black town of Flint, Michigan. All I can say here, is it’s about time.

you need to know…
ICYMI: The First Amendment to the constitution will not save you from getting your Twitter account snatched if you violate their terms of service. I’m clarifying this because it seems like a lot of folks are concerned that President Trump’s rights were violated after he was essentially banned from all social media known to man. Rest assured, if you’re not inciting riots, posting hate speech or cyber bullying, you shouldn’t have any issues.

Deshaun Watson is a case study for knowing your worth as an employee. He’s not too happy with the Houston Texans right now, and he’s getting backup from one of the greatest players in Houston sports history.
Of course the biggest sports story of the week has also come from Houston, after downtalking his team, James Harden was finally traded to the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster deal that reunites him with former teammate Kevin Durant. I hope it works out for him. He’s still not beating LeBron James.
Finally, I think it’s time that we acknowledge that Lori Harvey has the playbook for dating. She made waves early this week by confirming her relationship with People’s reigning hot boy Michael B. Jordan. And a thousand hearts broke that day.
