We made it to another Friday! That’s something to be excited about! Let’s jump in.
thoughts at large.
There are 65 days left in 2022. Isn’t that wild? I can clearly still remember the top of the year, and all the hope I had for how great the year was going to be. Truthfully, when I look back, this year has actually been great for me. I’ve been through a lot of transition professionally, but I’ve also grown personally.
Last night I looked at the goals I set for this year, and I’ve hit a few. Not all, but enough to feel like I’ve been successful. I will say that this put a battery in my back though, because (with God’s grace) we still have 65 more days left in this year. This week I’m encouraging you to take a look back at those goals you set at the top of the year, and pick them back up. A lot can happen in two months, friend. You don’t have to wait until the beginning of the year to start again. Do it now. When January 1st rolls around, you’ll thank yourself for getting it started now.
You got this, friend!
reads and vibes.
Fall is a time for fashion, friend. If you’re looking to make a luxury bag purchase to accessorize those fits, you should consider a Telfar. Watch my TikTok to learn why:
Here’s the article. Also, Telfar is BLACK-OWNED. The designer and founder Telfar Clemens and his team have done a great job of developing a product that has the right level of both access and exclusivity. Telfies are the new cool! The latest drop was today, with Black puffer bags, and at the time of this publication, they’re still available. Grab one if you’d like, by clicking here.
I watched From Scratch on Netflix this week. It’s excellent and I recommend it, HOWEVER, please be advised that it will have you emotional! I had to take breaks! For Background: the limited series is an adaptation of Thembi Locke’s memoir of the same name and stars Zoe Saldana and my fave… Bishop Greenleaf!
If you’re an R&B fan, you should definitely be excited, there’s lots of new music for you today!
Rihanna’s new single “Lift Me Up” is the first release from the Wakanda Forever soundtrack. It’s been six years since we’ve had any music from her, and this one is a heartfelt tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Listen: apple music | spotify
Top Dawg Entertainment is finally loosening the reigns on SZA’s music - her latest single “SHIRT” dropped today, quenching the thirst of fans who’ve been patiently waiting for something new. She’s still singing in cursive but it’s undeniably a bop! Listen here: apple music | spotify
Chloe Bailey has released her latest single “For The Night”, featuring my fave, Big Latto. Chloe has said that this song was written about her relationship with Gunna. (#FreeGunna btw.) The music video is also available now and features Druski as a love interest. That’s funny in itself. Listen to the song here: apple music | spotify
DVSN has a new album available today - and after listening, I have forgiven them for their super toxic lead single. The album is called “Working on My Karma” and it’s more of what we’ve come to expect from them - vibes for date night and beyond. Listen here: apple music | spotify
That’s all for this week friends, I’ll see you next week. Don’t forget to pick those goals back up!
Singing in cursive is a great way to describe it.
